Progress on the long-awaited development was delayed due to European Union rules because of state funding (the Welsh government purchased a 3% stake in TVR and provided a £2M loan), however a preferred contractor has now been selected which should mean refurbishment work can now begin soon, with constrution work on the new Griffith hopefully starting once the factory is ready.
There have been other concerns with the site which have also caused further issues with it’s development – dangerous substances, the roof’s poor condition, and issues with the fire system’s water tanks have all impacted the refurbishment.
First deliveries of the new Griffith were originally scheduled for earlier this year, sadly there is no revised delivery date as yet – but at least there is now some progress and things do seem to be going ahead…hopefully more news will follow soon as they progress with the factory.
