About this Car
The car is a 1959 TVR Grantura MK1 first registered on 2nd January 1960.
It’s thought there are only 6 on the road in the UK!
We believe that it came out of the factory with a Coventry Climax engine. As happened with many of these cars it later had an engine change to the 1850 MGB and 4 speed box. (Non overdrive).
The car was originally white and came with Alfin brakes, this being a factory build option with the original climax engine.
The outriggers have been replaced and the chassis restored along with a new floor being fitted.
Partial works on the interior includes seats being reupholstered
The body work from the roof and doors forward ideally needs to be restored and resprayed one day.
The rear of the car has been resprayed with the lights, badge and number plate in the correct location for this car.
At the time of chassis work, a roll cage was fitted to strengthen the car along with 4-point harnesses. These are easily removed.
The car has regularly been involved with the TVR club and exhibited, along with trips in 2017 to Spa and was entered in the Laon Historique of 2018. Both events were attended without incident or mechanical issues.
This is a great reliable car that with continue to appreciate dramatically.
