66,623 mile this car is in lovely condition and was used as a show car by Dick Lovetts at the launch of the new 911 in 2011.

The 911 Type 964 was introduced in 1988 initially as a 4-wheel drive Carrera 4. This 911 has a new 3.6 litre 259hp engine, newfront and rear suspension a completely flat underside and a rear spoiler that deployed and retracted electronically at pre-determined speeds. Wrap around impact bumpers were the key appearance change on type 964.

The Carrera 2 joined the following year with a largely identical appearance, the same new running gear with coil springs and spirited, 3.6 litre duel ignition engine. A key difference between the car lies in the brake system. With the Carrera 2 featuring a vacuum brake booster and duel piston brake callipers on the rear axle, while high-pressure hydraulics boosted the brakes of the Carrera 4 and 4 piston brakes acted on the rear wheels.

The 964 was the first model to introduce Tiptronic, and all new electronic 4 speed transmission from Porsche. All Tiptronic models came with on board computer.

The sound of this 911 is particularly special, enhanced by the dual mass flywheel, which helps dampen engine vibration and its resultant noise.

This car has been cared for by the last owner since 1998. He purchased the car after it received damage from a light rear end and came into his specialist workshops for repair. The car is on the register at a cat D in February 1998. It has been his personal cherished car ever since.

Following the repair the car has also had a number of minor modifications including tear drop wing mirror, later upgraded seats, six speed gearbox and Porsche cup wheels.
